Mr Ümit Seven, M.Sc., licensed psychological psychotherapist (cognitive behavioural therapy)
Psychotherapy is clinical treatment for psychological difficulties. Coaching supports you with questions about work and leadership; it is not clinical treatment and is therefore billed differently.
All services in English and German. All appointments except group therapy are also available online, via a secure video connection.

You know your own life. I bring professional expertise and a clear framework.
I am a licensed psychological psychotherapist (cognitive behavioural therapy) and work exclusively with adults. My private practice is in Berlin-Pankow, right on the border with Prenzlauer Berg.
First we clarify what matters to you, then we decide together what we will work on. Evidence-based, clearly structured and open to your circumstances.
Cognitive behavioural therapy for adults
When relationships keep getting stuck in the same place, the pressure inside will not ease or self-doubt refuses to budge, in your private or working life, cognitive behavioural therapy starts by looking at what keeps your difficulties going. Then we try out in everyday life what can change.
Time set aside for your concerns alone: cognitive behavioural therapy in one-to-one sessions, in English or German.
Book an appointmentWhen one word leads to another and you both find yourselves back in the middle of the old argument, the three of us look at how you get there and what keeps the conflict going.
Book an appointmentPractise what you find hard in conversation, with the same people, on fixed dates: psychotherapy in a closed group focusing on communication training.
Enquire about group therapyAssessment first, then an opinion
I only sign what I have assessed myself. That applies to ADHD assessments just as much as to second opinions, written statements and certificates.
If you want to know whether ADHD lies behind what you have long noticed in yourself. Interviews, questionnaires and tests over at least three appointments, or more depending on your pace; at the end you receive a written report.
A second, independent look at an existing diagnosis: I carry out my own assessment and draw on earlier reports only with your consent. The result is not decided in advance; it may confirm the diagnosis or lead to a different conclusion.
If you are 18 or over and have an exam ahead of you at school, in vocational training, at university or in state examinations, I assess whether a mental health condition is present and how it affects you in the exam. Whether you are granted adjustments is decided by the examination office.
For authorities and other bodies, only for patients currently in treatment: I certify what I have found. How the certificate is weighed is decided by the body that receives it.
No assessment has a predetermined result, and I only write a statement if my findings support it. If you are seeking exam adjustments, please ask the examination office beforehand what evidence it requires.
All appointments except group therapy are also available online via a secure video connection, in English or German. This includes the first conversation.
Cognitive behavioural therapy in one-to-one sessions, with the same time and attention as in person.
You sit together in front of one device and I join by video. The three of us look at what keeps the conflict going.
We get to know each other and work out how to proceed, without you having to come to the practice.
You need a quiet room where you can talk undisturbed, a computer or tablet with a camera and a stable internet connection. You do not need an account for the video session: I will send you the link in advance. The connection is encrypted and runs on servers in Germany. Nothing is recorded.
Therapy appointments can be booked via Doctolib or by email. If you would like your session to take place online, please send me a short email to let me know, even if you booked via Doctolib.
For people who carry responsibility
Some questions from work do not end when the working day does: how you lead, how you decide, whose expectations you live up to. I have particular experience with the police, the Bundeswehr (German armed forces) and other emergency and operational personnel.
When everyone is waiting for your decision and the difficult conversation is still ahead of you.
When the team expects one thing and management another, or duty asks one thing and family another, we sort out together what belongs where.
A new role, a career change or a crossroads where you are still hesitating.
Your own patterns, seen from the outside: how you make decisions, react and deal with pressure.
Your work-related questions, one to one; I involve your employer only if you wish.
Coaching is also available online, via a secure video connection.
In coaching we work on your work-related questions. Because coaching is not clinical treatment, I do not make a diagnosis.
The costs are paid by you or your employer; no health insurance is involved. If you are self-employed, coaching may be deductible as a business expense; please check this with your tax adviser. We agree duration, scope and fee in our first conversation.
I only involve your employer if you want me to. My duty of confidentiality applies towards your employer too: they learn only what you agree to share. If it becomes clear that the strain you are under is clinically significant, psychotherapy is the right route; we clarify this in our first conversation.

You do not need to know beforehand what you need. In our first appointment we get to know each other and work out together how to proceed. The first conversation can also take place online.
Individual and couples therapy and assessments can be booked via Doctolib or by email. For coaching and groups, please send me an email.
I ask questions to understand what brings you. How much you share the first time is up to you.
At the end we lay out side by side what might suit you: psychotherapy, assessment or coaching. Whether and how we continue is your decision.
